At the end of 2020 Foothills Young Farmers Club held their bi-annual event ‘Movember at the Mount’ to raise money for the NZ Movember Foundation.

This charity is something the club feels strongly about in that it aims to raise awareness around men’s mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer.

The event they held had a raffle, an auction, a live band for entertainment later and of course a ‘mo’ competition which was MC’d by the local living Lynda (Ken) Topp.

The night was a great success and they were able to raise $10,000 for charity.

As a club they decided to donate $7,000 to the NZ Movember Foundation and gave $1,000 each to Canterbury West Coast Air Rescue Helicopters, Mid Canterbury Area St John and the local Mt Somers Swimming Pool.

The night wouldn’t have been possible without all of their incredible sponsors, club members and community who supported them.

They look forward to their next event in 2022.
